More Music: Capstone

Music is discourse, communication between genres, spaces, times. I have always thought of Swedish culture as having a rather gothic side too, not just gothic in the sense of all those goth and metal bands descending upon the less cold parts of the world, but also in a more folk sense, something like dark ballads, like the second song sung by the acrobat couple in Bergman’s “Det Sjunde Inseglet”. So that’s whyI’d like to recommend Capstone, an amazing band, with a haunting, powerful sound, sharp banjos, poignant vocals, deserted landscapes, and a new EP called Parousia. Definitely worth giving a listen.
